Lacy Flurry and Matt Maggio, high school sweethearts who spent their high school years hours apart in two different cities; married this year in October after nine years of dating.
They happen to be some of our very best friends — so the four of us set out for a 6,300 mile roadtrip across the country from Arkansas to the west coast and up north.
They considered getting married on the trip, but decided they wanted their families to be present for their special day, totally understandable! But they decided on something I think is just as neat as getting married out west — doing their first look and portraits instead! We all decided an intimate first look at Horseshoe Bend in Arizona — 1,000 feet up, overlooking the Colorado River would be perfect!
It was a little unconventional, but so worth it!
They carried their wedding day attire – flower crown and all (made by local Arkansas florist, Anna Rogers) across the country for a first look and photo session that was nothing short of amazing.
We did 3 engagement sessions, 1 bridal session and 1 ‘first look’ and portrait session during the 13 day trip in August.
The sessions ranged from locations like Lake Tahoe in California, Glacier National Park in Montana, Canyon X in Arizona, and finally Horseshoe Bend in Arizona. The other sessions will be featured on the blog in upcoming weeks — and their wedding as well!
Still dreaming of all the beauty from our trip! <3
